Using Your Sharpening Stones
Step 1
After soaking the stone for 15 minutes, place the stone on the rubber pad inside of the bamboo base. Hold the knife flat and perpendicular to the stone with the tip pointing to the left.
Step 2
Tilt the knife at a 20-degree angle, then slowly stroke the edge of the blade from heel to tip down the full length of the stone. Flip the knife over and repeat step 2 on the opposite side of the blade.
Step 3
After desired sharpness is reached, move to the next-highest grit stone and repeat Step 2. Then use the leather strop to remove any lingering metal burrs from the edge of the blade. Wash the blade, dry, and you are ready to use your newly-sharpened blade!

Leather Strop
The leather strop is used to remove any fine metal burrs and completely straighten the cutting edge of your blade. If you have ever seen a knife which has a mirror-like finish near the cutting edge, it was probably the result of using a leather strop.
Angle Guide
After some practice you may be able to freehand sharpen your blades at a 20 degree angle, but if you want to take the worry out of whether or not you blade is at the right angle simply attach the angle guide to the spin of your knife and use that to guide you as you apply a perfect edge to your blades.
Flattening Stone
Over time your sharpening stones will start to develop grooves and Other wear patterns from you sharpening your blades. All you need to do to fix this is run the included flattening stone along the entire surface for a few minutes until your stone is back to uniform straightness.
Rubber Pad & Bamboo Base
Being around sharp cutting edges is a very serious process. In order to make it as safe as possible we included two non slip rubber pads which will hold your stones in place as you sharpen your blades.

The #400 grit is only for repairing knives or chipped blades as it will remove more material from the blade. The #1000 is good for general-use sharpening, while the higher grit #3000 and #8000 stones are best for honing your already-sharpened blades. Once done with sharpening and honing, you can use the leather strop to remove any lingering burrs and produce a mirror-like polish on your blade.

* Maintaining the angle is a breeze thanks to our 15-degree angle guide, which attaches to your knife.
* Be patient and take your time while sharpening, it could take up to an hour depending on how dull or damaged your blade has become.
* If the stone starts to feel dry or you feel too much friction, add more water to the stone.
